Continuing Education Units for CTL Online Faculty Development Workshops

Selected online faculty development workshops hosted by the Center for Teaching and Learning are now eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEU). Online workshops that are 8 days long are worth 1 CEU and workshops that are 12-14 days long are worth 2 CEUs. Workshops that are 3 weeks long are worth 3 CEUs. Eligible workshops are clearly identified on the CTL workshop Web site.

Faculty who wish to apply for CEUs for workshops completed since Fall 2004 should follow the following steps.

  1. Successfully complete workshop(s) before applying for CEU credits.

  2. Download the CEU Application and mail the completed form to UMUC with payment to:

  3. CTL will send a confirmation email of receipt of all applications.

  4. CTL will verify eligibility for CEUs and submit approved applications to the Registrar's Office for processing of CEU certificates at the end of each workshop semester (January, June and September).

  5. Applications that are rejected will be send back to the applicant with written explanation.

The cost is $15 for each CEU certificate which can include up to 3 completed workshops. UMUC will accept Checks and Money Orders payable to UMUC or credit cards (Visa and MasterCard only). Questions should be sent to CTL at ctla@polaris.umuc.edu
