AliAmjad Ali was named program director of the Graduate School's Technological Systems Department, where he will help manage the technology management program. He originally joined UMUC as an adjunct faculty member two years ago. Previously, Ali worked as a consultant for both public and private sector organizations. His areas of expertise include technology management, strategic management, e-business, and project management. Ali earned a doctorate from George Washington University, in Washington, D.C., in 2000.

CarlinNadine Carlin is working as a Human Resources associate. For the past 11 years, she worked for Bank of America as a customer service manager. Carlin holds a BS in business from Columbia Union College, in Takoma Park, Maryland, and is currently preparing for the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk, May 3-5, 2002. She plans to walk 60 miles from Baltimore to Washington.

imJanice Im joined Head Start as a child development specialist. Her responsibilities include providing training and technical assistance to Early Head Start and Head Start Programs in Region III states (Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.) Im previously was an early Head Start education coordinator with Fairfax County Department of Family Services Office for Children. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in human resources, with emphases in family and child development, from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

JohnsonDana D. Johnson joined Human Resources as a human resources associate. Her duties include providing direct support to the employment/recruitment section, assisting with training for employees, administering tests, maintaining the applicant database for job seekers, providing assistance with computer systems, coordinating temporary help placement, and providing general employment information regarding vacancies to both internal and external clients. Previously, Johnson worked as a customer service manager and human resources assistant for the Department of Business Services at the University of Maryland, College Park. She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park, and is pursuing a master's in human resources at UMUC.

MunshellCynthia Munshell is the new assistant academic director for Behavioral Sciences. She will teach, work with psychology majors, participate in student and faculty recruitment, assist with curriculum planning and new course development, and review syllabi. Munshell said she also hopes to play a role in expanding psychology students' involvement in the Co-op program. She transferred to UMUC from the University of Baltimore, where she developed and directed the undergraduate psychology program at the Shady Grove Center. She received her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a licensed clinical psychologist.

SikorskiCynthia Sikorski was appointed director of alumni relations for Institutional Advancement. In this role, she is responsible for UMUC's alumni relations program, providing services and benefits to more than 90,000 alumni worldwide. For the past five years, she served as director of alumni relations at the University of Miami School of Law. She also worked in other areas at the University of Miami, including the Office of International and Foreign Law Programs. She received a BA in English from the University of Miami.
