News Updates and Briefs New Year Brings New "Goods and Services" to Library New Library Catalog A new and improved online catalogcatalogUSMAI TURNITIN.COM Helps Teachers Combat Plagiarism UMUC now provides teachers and staff in supporting positions with access to a Web-based service with a database of over 1 million academic papers, a digitized version of the Gutenberg Collection of Literary Classics, and other papers pulled from the Internet and various "paper mills," (i.e., services that sell term papers). When a teacher or student submits a paper to TurnItIn.com, the service compares the paper to its database and issues an originality report. ILS at a Glance A new brochure is available that provides a concise introduction to all Information and Library Services (ILS) resources, services, and instruction.
